Posting a perfect 3-0 record over the weekend at the Connecticut College/Coast Guard Tournament, senior Frank Vega (Lima, Peru) of the Merrimack College men's tennis program has been named this week's Fuddruckers Male Athlete of the Week.

Vega won both of his doubles matches against the top pairings submitted by Stonehill College and the Coast Guard Academy. He won his first match against the Skyhawks, 8-4, before topping the Bears by an 8-6 margin. He then dispatched the No. 1 entry from Trinity College, 6-1 and 6-2, in his lone match at the A Singles Draw.

The Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, Vega has six combined victories, four of which have come in the doubles venue. The fourth-year Warrior boasts 79 combined victories over the last three years as he shoots to reach the century mark this spring.

Vega and the Warriors conclude their fall slate of matches on Thursday afternoon when Merrimack plays Gordon College in dual play at 4 p.m. in Wenham, Mass.
