Posting a 21-save week over two games for the Warriors, sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) of the Merrimack College field hockey program has been named this week's Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week.
Ohmen totaled a 21-save week for the Warriors, stopping 11 shots in the Warriors' contest at No. 6 Stonehill to begin the week followed by a 10-save effort at American International in Merrimack's 4-0 blanking of the Yellow Jackets.
Entering the regular season's final week, Ohmen increased her save percentage to .807 – the second-best rate in the conference, while she now has the fourth-most saves in the NE10 with 109 over 15 appearances. She established a new career high for saves in a season, reaching the century mark for the first time in her career.
Ohmen is one of five keepers in the country with a save percentage above .800 and one of only two in the NE10 to boast that distinction. Her 7.27 saves per game average also ranks sixth nationwide.
Ohmen and the Warriors play two home games this week against Bentley and Adelphi. Both games will be played at Merrimack Stadium.Â
