Junior guard Lindsay Werner of the women's basketball team has been named this week's Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week after a career-high tying 32-point effort against the College of Saint Rose. 

Werner led Merrimack in scoring, setting personal bests in field goals (11) and field-goal attempts (23). It marked the third-year shooter's first 30-point effort of the year and first since her previous 32-point performance, which occured last February against Southern New Hampshire. Werner fell four points shy of tying the program's single-game scoring record of 36 points. 

Werner has led Merrimack in scoring in eight of 12 games this season, ranking third in the Northeast-10 Conference with an average just north of 19.0 points per game. She has scored in double figures in 11 of 12 games this season, including a team-best eight games with at least 20 points. 

Merrimack's starting shooting guard and the rest of the Warriors return to action with two games this week, starting tomorrow night at Hammel Court against Southern Connecticut.
