Merrimack Celebrates Class of 2011 at Graduation

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Merrimack College celebrated its Class of 2011 Sunday at graduation at Lawler Rink, which featured 59 student-athletes.

The Class of 2011 guided Merrimack's 20 intercollegiate sports to a four-year record of 719-639 (.529) overall and 499-417 in conference (.545), the highest four-year winning percentage at Merrimack in at least 10 years.

Over the last four years, Merrimack has qualified for 16 NCAA Tournaments and won three Northeast-10 Championships.

The men's tennis team led the way qualifying for the NCAA Tournament in each of the last four seasons, marking the first four NCAA appearances in the program's history. Football, men's lacrosse and men's tennis each won a NE-10 Championship, while men's lacrosse (three times), men's tennis (three times), volleyball (twice), hockey, softball and men's soccer each reached the conference championship.

Eight programs, hockey, volleyball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's lacrosse, field hockey, men's basketball and baseball, recorded school records for wins over the last four seasons.

Kerri Domohowski (Saugus, MA) from the women's soccer team and Jon Ravenelle (North Andover, MA) from the men's tennis team represent Merrimack's finalists for the Northeast-10 Scholar Athletes of the Year.

Ravenelle and Heidi Wroblicky (Irvine, CA), from the volleyball team, earned the top GPA awards, recording the highest male and female four-year grade-point-averages among Merrimack's senior student-athletes.

As of today, two graduates, Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA) and Dee Mency (Hagerstown, MD), earned All-American honors.

Peter Early (Ward Hill, MA), who lettered in both football and track, received the Reverand Edward J. Burns O.S.A. Medal at graduation, awarded to the first ranking student in business administration.
