#9 Men's Soccer Hosts Franklin Pierce Wednesday Night

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 9 Merrimack College men's soccer team will look to extend its unbeaten streak to 11 games on Wednesday night, when the Warriors host Franklin Pierce University from Martone-Mejail Field at 7 pm. Merrimack jumped five spots in the national poll this week, moving from the 14th spot.

Last Time Out:
  • The Warriors handed No. 2 Adelphi its first loss of the 2017 season, downing the Panthers, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. Seniors Josue Ruiz Maya (Madero, Mexico) and Michael Dushman (Bedford, Mass.) both had goals in the contest, while junior Lars Sund (Stavanger, Norway) contributed with an assist on the game-winning goal by Dushman.
  • Senior keeper Lucas Rezende (Weymouth, Mass.) made four saves in net to earn his 11th victory of the season.
  • The Warriors have outscored the opposition, 28-7 this season, averaging 2.15 goals per game, while allowing 0.54 goals per game. They have also outshot their opponents 191-102, including 91-37 with shots on net.
Inside the Series/Last Season vs. Franklin Pierce:
  • Last season, the Warriors lost to the Ravens, 1-0, in Rindge, New Hampshire.
  • In 2012, both programs met three times; once in the regular season, the second time was a 1-0 win for Merrimack during the NE10 Semifinals, and then again during the NCAA First Round game, in which the Warriors won, 1-0 as well. In 2013, the teams met again in the NE10 Semifinals, where Merrimack won in penalty kicks, 4-2, to advance to the NE10 Championship game.
The Ravens:
  • The Ravens enter the game with a 6-3-2 record and 4-3-2 in NE10 play. They lost to SNHU on Saturday, 2-0.
  • Noam Kolakofsky leads the team in scoring with 11 points (3g, 5a). Hamish Cadigan is second with three goals and three assists for nine points.
  • Jadel Poon-Lewis has racked up 1041:03 minutes of play being the only goalkeeper to take the field for the Ravens. He holds a 0.95 goals-against-average and a 6-3-2 record.
