NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey program will celebrate Senior Night on Saturday evening when the Warriors host Adelphi University at 6 p.m. from Merrimack Stadium, honoring the careers of seniors Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.), Riley Kane (Rye, N.H.), Mikayla Panneton (Andover, Mass.), Kayla Raneri (Reading, Mass.) and Taylor Simpson (York, Maine). The Warriors are within a game of making the Northeast-10 Championship, with the possibility of reaching the postseason as the fifth or sixth seed still in play entering the regular-season finale.

NE10 Postseason Outlook:
The top-six finishers advance to the NE10 Championship, which begins with opening round action on Tuesday, Oct. 31. The semifinals and finals will be played on Friday, Nov. 3, and Sunday, Nov. 5, respectively will all contests occurring at the site of the higher remaining seed. Either an Assumption loss on Friday night to Franklin Pierce or a Merrimack victory on Saturday will clinch a playoff spot for the Navy and Gold.

Last Time Out:
  • Merrimack debuted on the new turf at Merrimack Stadium, falling by a 2-1 final to Bentley University on Tuesday afternoon
  • The Falcons scored twice in the opening half, putting Merrimack in a two-goal hole entering the second stanza. Freshman Serena Rousseau (Plaistow, N.H.) scored her third goal over her last five games in the second half to pull the Navy and Gold within one, but that's where the scoring stopped for Merrimack
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) registered five saves, while sophomore back Miranda Judd (Lebanon, N.H.) notched a defensive save
Mack Facts:
  • All four of Merrimack's seniors that play in the field have started at least 15 games this season and the entire group have been significant contributors to the Warriors
  • Simpson and Hammond became the fourth and fifth players, respectively, in program history to reach 100 career points this year. Hammond is two goals away from just the fourth 20-goal season in school history while Simpson ranks second on the team in goals (10), assists (8) and points (28)
  • Kane has started all 15 of her appearances, scoring her first-ever goal earlier in the year. Panneton has also made 15 starts, establishing new personal bests in goals (3) and points (7)
  • Raneri has played in five games this season in goal, and is on pace to register career highs in goals-against-average (1.78) and save percentage (.812)
Inside the Series:
  • Merrimack is currently on a four-game winning streak against the Panthers, including a pair of playoff wins. Last year, the Warriors went on the road to upset Adelphi, 1-0, in the NE10 Quarterfinals
  • Sophomore Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) pitched a shutout in the postseason affair, while Hammond netted the day's lone goal
  • The last time Adelphi played on campus was the memorable 2-1 victory in 2015 during the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The triumph over the Panthers began Merrimack's postseason run that ended with an appearance in the national title game
