DURHAM, N.H. – The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team plays a home-and-home series with New Hampshire, beginning Friday night at the Whittemore Center at 7 p.m. Saturday will be the home opener for the Warriors at Lawler Rink for a 4 p.m. puck drop on Saturday.  Friday's game can be watched on

Last Time Out:
- The Warriors played at No. 3 Minnesota for a pair of games last weekend, upsetting the Gophers 4-3 on Friday, and falling to the home team 4-1 on Sunday.
- During Friday's game after trailing 3-1 midway through the first, the Warriors scored the next three goals to complete the upset. Junior Katelyn Rae (Courtice, Ontario) cut the lead to one with 13 seconds left in the first period. Freshman Maddy Burton (Aurora, Ill.) tied the game at 3:41 of the second, before junior captain Jessica Bonfe (Woodbury, Minn.) scored the game-winner at the 5:16 mark of the period. Sophomore goalie Léa-Kristine Demers (Repentigny, Quebec) stopped a career-high 54 shots, including 22 in the second period.
- During Sunday's game, junior Paige Sorensen (Plymouth, Minn.) scored the lone goal. Classmates Paige Voight (St. Michael, Minn.) and Emily Volpe (Whitby, Ontario) both contributed with assists. Junior goalie Samantha Ridgewell (Outlook, Saskatchewan) made 35 saves, including 18 in the second period.
Inside the Series vs. New Hampshire:
- Although the Warriors are 1-5 all-time against New Hampshire, their first-ever program and Hockey East win was against the Wildcats on Oct. 17, 2015. Voight, Sorensen, and junior Meghan Martin (Newport, Vt.) all registered points in the contest. Ridgewell stopped 34 saves.
- Last season, New Hampshire swept the season series. Voight and Rae picked up points in the game on Dec. 3rd.
The Wildcats:
- The Wildcats were picked seventh, in the 2017-18 Hockey East Preseason Poll, just above the Warriors, after finishing last season with a 14-19-2 record. New Hampshire lost to Boston College in the Hockey East Quarterfinals.
- Amy Schlagel returns as the second leading scorer from last yaer, finishing with 23 points (13g, 10a). Julia Fedeski had six goals and 16 assists for 22 points.
- Goaltender Hilary Cashin finished with a 13-9-1 record, to go along with a 2.65 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage.
