NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey team returns to Martone-Mejail Field on Saturday afternoon when the Warriors host Southern Connecticut State University at 1 p.m. in a Northeast-10 Conference duel.   

Last Time Out:

  • Picking up its biggest win to date, the Warriors went on the road and upset third-ranked Saint Anselm, 4-2, by scoring four unanswered goals to hand the Hawks their first loss of the season
  • Senior forward Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) notched a hat trick, totaling six points and by doing so, became the fifth player to reach 100 career points in the program history
  • Classmate Mikayla Panneton (Andover, Mass.) provided an insurance tally, while senior Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) and junior Delaney Yule (Southbury, Conn.) picked up assists to account for Merrimack's point contributors
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) picked up eight saves to record her eighth win of the season
  • The four goals Merrimack scored were the most an opponent put on the Hawks also season, and equaled the output Saint Anselm had allowed over its previous six games combined
Mack Facts:
  • Hammond reached the 100-point plateau on the heels of Simpson accomplishing the same feat two games ago against Saint Michael's
  • Merrimack's 100-point club features April Daugherty '12 (159), Candace Waldie '13 (119), Jen Otis '12 (113), Simpson (103) and Hammond (100)
  • Hammond also has tied her career high in goals scored, equaling the total she posted as a sophomore. Her 43 career markers are four shy of moving into second place all-time at Merrimack ,
  • The Phillipston native's six game-winning strikes this season have brought her career total to 18, setting a new program record
  • Simpson's team-leading sixth assist on Saturday tied her previous personal best, set in 2015
