PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Merrimack College women's track & field team competed at the RIC Holiday Classic, hosted by Rhode Island College at the Providence Career & Technical Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Top Performances
- Senior Lauren MacGregor (Salem, N.H.) won the triple jump and long jump events, with distances of 11.26 meters and 5.23 meters, respectively.
- Freshman Calene Lazare (Newton, Mass.) continued to impress as a rookie, winning the 60 meter dash, while placing second in the 200 meter sprint with a time of 26.09 seconds.
- Senior Rachel MacKelcan (Wilmington, Del.) had impressive showing in the weight throw, with a distance of 10.84 meters.
- Sophomore Gabrielle Eldridge (Easton, Mass.) finished second in the shot put, with an 11.85 meter throw, while finishing third in the high jump.
- The 4x200 relay team placed third with a time of 1:49.68. The team consisted of sophomores Hannah Keating (Fairfield, Conn.) and Emma Cagney (Keene, N.H.), and freshmen Caitlin Whitman (Mansfield, Mass.) and Calene Lazare.
- Whitman also placed third in the 600 meter run, sixth-tenths of a second behind the winner from Bridgewater.

Merrimack will have a month off, before they compete at three different locations over Jan. 12th and 13
th 2018. The three meets will be the Harvard Multi-meet, the Brandeis Invitational, and the Spartan Regional Invite.
