NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Senior distance runner
Maci Chapman recorded a personal best and the Merrimack women's track and field team used its clear edge in the sprints to claim a first-place finish in a tri-meet against Stonehill and St. Anselm's at Duane Stadium on Thursday.
Merrimack finished with 158 points while Stonehill (133) and St. Anselm's (38) finished second and third, respectively.
Chapman ran the second-fastest 5000-meter race in program history (17:29.17), earning a first-place finish with a 51-second advantage over second place. Merrimack swept the 5000-meter race with
Shealin Conroy and
Kristina Ponzio claiming second and third, respectively.
Riley Paskow was a triple-winner for the Warriors, leading a sweep in the 200 meters (25.30), taking first in the 400 meters (58.30) and earning the win in the long jump.
Lillian Warner led a sweep in the 100 meters (12.96).
Marianna Collins headlined a 1-2 finish in the 1500 meters (4:42) with
Lily Thomas claiming second in both the 800 meters and 1500 meters.
Merrimack sophomore
Isabella Tomic took first in the 400 hurdles (1:06.96).
The combination of Warner,
Jennifer Baker,
Piper Testa and
Madison DeCamp propelled the Warriors to a win in the 4x100 relay (49.25).
Bella Hayes and
Cameron Zuliani led the Warriors in the throwing events with Hayes taking first in the shot put and Zuliani claiming the top spot in the discus. Zuliani also took second in the shot put while
Caitlin Garrahy finished first in the hammer.
