NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The ninth-ranked Merrimack College field hockey program returns to action for back-to-back games this week beginning on the road Tuesday at American International College. The Warriors will then return to Martone-Mejail Field on Wednesday to face No. 5 Stonehill at 7 p.m. Both contest are part of Merrimack's non-conference schedule.  

Last Time Out:
  • Seniors Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) and Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) each scored goals to lead the Navy and Gold to a 2-0 win over Franklin Pierce on Friday night
  • The contest marked Merrimack's home opener, and the first home win for head coach Megan Shea
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) registered her first shutout of the season with five saves against the Ravens, and began the week with a Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week selection
'Mack Facts:
  • Simpson leads Merrimack with seven points (3G, 1A), and ranks fifth in the NE10 in scoring
  • Ohmen is among the top-five in the conference in both save percentage (.867) and saves (26)
  • Both Simpson (37) and Hammond (33) have move up the Warriors' all-time goal scoring list since the season starting, currently ranking fourth and sixth, respectively. Simpson reached the 90-point plateau on Friday, and is on pace to become just the fourth Merrimack player with 100 career points
Inside the Series:
  • Merrimack has dominated the season series with a 19-3 record against the Yellow Jackets. AIC bested the Warriors, however, 3-2 last season
  • The Warriors split their two meetings against the Skyhawks last year, winning the NE10 affair. The Navy and Gold have won four of the last five matchups against Stonehill
