NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The ninth-ranked Merrimack College field hockey program brings its four-game winning streak into Northeast-10 Conference play when the Warriors host the undefeated Pace University field hockey program on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Martone-Mejail Field.
Last Time Out:
- In a top-10 matchup, the Warriors outlasted the visiting No. 10 Stonehill College Skyhawks, 5-4, on Wednesday night
- Merrimack rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to take a 2-1 lead and never relinquished it, despite Stonehill pulling within one goal on multiple occasions
- Junior center back Delaney Yule (Southbury, Conn.) recorded three defensive saves and sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) tied her season high with 13 stops including a crucial penalty-stroke save to keep Merrimack in front (5-4) with less than seven minutes left in regulation
- Offensively, seniors Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) and Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) continued to lead the attack with five and three points, respectively
- Sophomore Lindsay Nolte (Canton, Mass.) and freshman Colleen Ellis (Westford, Mass.) each scored the first-ever tallies for the Warriors, while junior Mary McNeil (Canton, Mass.) added two assists
'Mack Facts:
- After Wednesday's performance, Simpson is now just four points away for becoming the fourth Warrior in program history to reach 100 career points
- With her team-leading 13 points, Hammond is right on the heels of her classmate with 86 for her career. The fourth-year forward ranks fifth in school history in points, and if she maintains her current pace she will join Simpson in the 100-point club
- Nationally, Hammond ranks in the top-10 in both goals-per-game (1.20) and points-per-game (2.60)
- Yule is now tied for the conference lead and national lead in defensive saves (4). Ohmen ranks among the top-three in the NE10 in save percentage (.833) and total saves (45)

- With Pace only in its third season competing in the sport of field hockey, the Warriors and setter have only played each other twice
- The program's have won a game apiece in the all-time series, with Merrimack winning the inaugural matchup, 6-0
