NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Completing a run of four home games over its last five, the No. 10 Merrimack College field hockey program hosts Assumption College at 4 p.m. from Martone-Mejail Field in Northeast-10 Conference play.

Last Time Out:
  • For the first time this season, the Warriors went to overtime as Merrimack battled Pace University on campus Sunday
  • Senior Riley Kane (Rye, N.H.) pounced on a loose ball midway through the first half to open the scoring. For Kane, it marked the first goal and first points of her four-year career
  • Pace evened the scoring late in the opening stanza by converting on a penalty corner, making it a 1-1 game
  • Despite attempting 16 more corners than their opposition, the Warriors could not crack the Setters defense in the second half, sending the game to the extra session
  • Merrimack controlled the first overtime, attempting four shots and three corners over the first seven minutes. Ten minutes in, however, Pace scored on a two-on-one opportunity to win the NE10 opener, 2-1
'Mack Facts:
  • Kane became the seventh different Warrior to score on Sunday, and the fourth to net their first-ever goal
  • Senior Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass. ) enters the week ranked third in the NE10 with 13 points
  • Senior Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) sits in second on the team in points (11) with four goals and three assists. She boasts 94 for career, which ranks fourth all-time at Merrimack. If Simpson continues on her current pace, she will become the fourth Warrior in program history with 100 career points
  • Sophomore Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) maintained her status as a top-five goalkeeper in the NE10 in total saves (51) and save percentage (.823)
Inside the Series:
  • Wednesday will be the 25th meeting between the programs, with the Navy and Gold staking a 14-10 lead in the all-time series
  • The Warriors won last year's matchup, 1-0, behind a 12-save shutout form Ohmen and the game-winning goal off the stick of Hammond
