Mary McNeil Interview
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Junior center back
Delaney Yule (Southbury, Mass.) scored off a penalty corner in the second half to break a 1-1 deadlock and gave the No. 10 Merrimack College field hockey program a 2-1 win over visiting Assumption College for the Warriors' first Northeast-10 Conference victory of the season.

- Twelve minutes into Wednesday's contest, junior Mary McNeil (Canton, Mass.) struck the day's first dangerous chance, but her shot was cleared off the goal line by Assumption
- Five minutes later, the Greyhounds executed on a penalty corner, resulting in their first goal of the day to take a 1-0 lead
- In the 22nd minute, the Warriors answered. Freshman Colleen Ellis (Westford, Mass.) pushed a loose ball across the crease, where sophomore Lindsey Nolte (Canton, Mass.) was waiting to punch the ball in and tie the game
- The Warriors pressured the Greyhounds early in the second half, attempting four shots and one corner over the first five minutes, but could not pull ahead
- In the 44th minute, Merrimack capitalized. After inserting a corner, Yule moved to the near post and one-timed a pass from senior Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) that beat the Assumption goalkeeper

Notes and Notables
- Yule's tally marked the first of her season, and she has three points from her center-back position
- Both of Nolte's goals have come at Martone-Mejail Field as she joined senior Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) and Simpson as multi-goal scorers on the Warriors
- With her assist, Simpson increased her career total to 95 as she nears becoming the fourth player in school history with 100 career points
- Merrimack took the pace of play to the Greyhounds in the second half, outshooting Assumption by 17 (19-2). Hammond led the way with nine attempts on goal while Simpson contributed seven
