NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey program will hope to make it two wins in as many games against Franklin Pierce University when the Warriors travel to Rindge, N.H. for a Northeast-10 Conference tilt at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors bested the Ravens, 2-0, at Martone-Mejail Field in a non-conference affair two weeks ago.

Last Time Out:
  • Merrimack used the combination of freshman Colleen Ellis (Westford, Mass.) and sophomore Lindsey Nolte (Canton, Mass.) to net the game-tying goal before the duo of senior Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) and junior Delaney Yule (Southbury, Conn.) notched the game-winner in the second half as the Warriors topped Assumption, 2-1, on Wednesday
  • Merrimack dominated in the second half, outshooting the Greyhounds 19-2. The go-ahead strike came off a penalty corner as Yule inserted and moved to the near post, where she received a pass from Simpson, and one-timed a strike into the top half of the net
  • Sophomore Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) only needed to make five saves, but prevented Assumption for tying the game in the second half
'Mack Facts:
  • For Ellis, the helper marked her first-ever assist as the rookie has become a regular among Merrimack's attacking core
  • Senior Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass. ) registered a team-high nine shots, to go along with seven attempts by Simpson as the senior attackers combined for half of Merrimack's shots in the game
  • Speaking of Simpson, she now boasts 95 career points as she approaches the 100-point milestone
Inside the Series:
  • Including the one win this season, through 21 meetings against Franklin Pierce, Merrimack owns a 16-5 advantage in the all-time series
  • Simpson and Hammond each scored for the Warriors two weeks ago in the shutout win. The former assisted on the latter's tally for a three-point evening
  • Ohmen made five saves to record the shutout
