ORONO, Maine – After hosting No. 9/9 Maine this past weekend, the Merrimack College women's ice hockey team will wrap up its season series on the road at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena to play a pair of games against the Black Bears. Puck drop for both games is 2 p.m. with the first game starting on Friday.

Last Time Out:
  • The two schools squared off on Saturday from Lawler Rink in game that Maine won, 5-1. After the Black Bears score late in the first, junior Katelyn Rae (Courtice, Ontario) knotted the game up at one two minutes into the second period. However, Maine scored a pair of goals in each of the final two periods to skate to victory. Rae extended her point streak to seven straight games, which is a new career-long.
  • Junior goaltender Samantha Ridgewell (Outlook, Saskatchewan) made 23 saves in net. Classmate Dominique Kremer (West Fargo, N.D.) picked up her second assist of the season.
The Warriors:
  • Rae leads the team with 18 points (13g, 5a), while sophomore Mikyla Grant-Mentis (Brampton, Ontario) has 13 points on nine goals and four assists. Junior Felila Manu (Anchorage, Alaska) leads the team with seven assists. Junior captain Paige Voight (St. Michael, Minn.) is third on the team in scoring with nine points (3g, 6a).
  • Ridgewell is 12th nationally with a .928 save percentage, which leads all Hockey East goaltenders.
  • In conference play, Merrimack sits seventh in scoring defense, allowing three goals per game.
The Black Bears 
  • Maine enters the weekend with a 15-6-3 overall record and a 9-3-2 Hockey East record, sitting in third place in the standings. The Black Bears have won four straight games, have a nine game unbeaten streak, and are ranked ninth in both of the national rankings.
  • Tereza Vanisova leads the team in all offensive categories with 37 points, 24 assists, and 13 goals. Carly Jackson has a 13-5-3 record in net, with a pair of shutouts and a 1.78 goals against average.
  • The Black Bears have the 15th best scoring offense, averaging 2.79 goals per game. Their defense allows 2.00 goals per contest, which ranks in the top 10 in the nation. The penalty kill is 11th nationally, killing off 87.5 % of the penalties.

The Warriors have two more home games left in the regular season. The first is against Boston University on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. from Lawler Rink.
