NORTH ANDOVER, Mass – The Merrimack College men's soccer team will hit the road Saturday, taking on Southern Connecticut. The Warriors currently sit in fourth place in the NE10 standings; a loss in the last three games of the season, however, could put the team on the road for the first round of the tournament.
Last Time Out:
- With just five shots on net between both teams in the first 45 minutes, it was as even as any game for the Warriors this year. Both teams had its respective chances, but neither side was able to break the stalemate. Tyler Packett made three saves for Merrimack, while Jadel Poon-Lewis made two huge stops in the final 10 minutes of the first half to keep the play level.
- Franklin Pierce struck with just under 10 minutes left in the second half. After a ball was crossed in, the initial shot was blocked; Noam Kolakofsky was there, and the strike beat Packett over the top for the 1-0 lead.
- Merrimack threw on a series of shots in the final 10 minutes, but big saves from Poon-Lewis kept the final score at 1-0.
