#4 Field Hockey Welcomes Bentley to Duane Stadium for NE10 Quarterfinals Tuesday

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After a regular season that saw the fifth-ranked Merrimack College field hockey program set a new school record with 11 Northeast-10 Conference victories, the Warriors enter the NE10 Championship as the second seed in the league tournament. Merrimack welcomes seventh-seeded Bentley to Duane Stadium for a 7 p.m. NE10 Quarterfinal tomorrow evening. Tomorrow's game will be ticketed; Adults will be charged $6 and seniors/children $4. All Merrimack students with a valid Mack Card will receive free entry, while any student from another NE10 institution will be charged $1.

Inside the Series:
  • The Warriors have a 14-15 all-time record against Bentley in 29 contests.
  • Last season, the Warriors split with Bentley winning one game on the road and then losing at home in the program's first ever game at Merrimack Stadium.
  • Earlier in the season Merrimack defeated Bentley on the road by a score of 3-2.
  • In the previous meeting, Merrimack went up 3-0 behind two goals from senior Mary McNeil. Despite the large lead, the Falcons answered with two goals in the second half but it was not enough to come back as the Warriors held on 3-2.
Five Things to Know:
  • Junior goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen ranks fourth in the NE10 and 11th in the country in goals against average (1.36); she ranks first in the NE10 in save percentage (.804) and third in goals against (22).
  • McNeil scored her 40th goal of her career last Tuesday night, making her the first ever player in program history with 40 career goals and 40 career assists. She leads her team in goals (16), assists (13), and points (45) while also ranking second in the country in assists per game (.72), and fifth in points per game (2.59)
  • Merrimack ranks fourth in the country in Division II and is currently second in the NE10 rankings. With a win on Saturday, the Warriors have secure second place in the conference and have also set a program record with 11 conference wins in a season. It will also mark the fourth time in program history the team post 15 wins in a season.
  • As a team, Merrimack ranks fifth in the country in goals per game (3.50), sixth in points per game (9.00), save percentage (.825), scoring average (3.64), scoring margin (2.53), winning percentage (.875), and first in penalty corners per game (12.94)
  • Senior captains McNeil and Delaney Yule were named to the 2018 Victory Sports Tours / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior Game; fellow senior captain Samantha Bartush was named as an alternate player and could be added to the roster as the game nears on Friday, Nov. 30th, at Duquesne University
