NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball team will make their first road trip of the year heading to Domincan College for the Regina Rivera Tournament. The Warriors will play two games beginning on Friday against the host Chargers at 5:30 p.m. at the Hennessy Center. The Warriors then return to the Orangeburg, N.Y. campus on Saturday to face Felician University with an approximate tip-off time of 3 p.m.
Five Things to Know:
- Senior guard Lindsay Werner currently leads the Northeast-10 Conference with 24.0 points per game. She is also tied for 14th in the country in scoring.
- Fellow senior Karlee Alves ranks first in the NE10 in assists per game (11.0) and steals per game (6.7). She currently ranks second and fourth in the nation in each category, respectively.
- Junior forward Denia Davis-Stewart also finds herself atop the NE10 in blocks per game (4.0), she also ranks in the top 10 in the country in swats.
- Sophomore forward Alyssa Casey is currently averaging a double-double tallying 20.0 points per game to go along with 10.0 rebounds per game. She is currently tied for fifth in the NE10 in board per game, and is the conference's reigning Player of the Week
- Merrimack was chosen to finish fifth in the Northeast Division of the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll
Series History:
- Friday's contest against Dominican will be only their second meeting all time, the first came in 2012 where the Warriors went home with a 65-45 win.
- Saturday's matchup with Felician will mark the first time the two teams have ever played each other.
