NORTH ANDOVER, Mass – The Merrimack College men's soccer team is headed back to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, and will square off against second-seeded Adelphi Sunday afternoon, with game time set for 1 p.m. The Warriors clinched its second-straight NE10 Championship birth Friday, with a win over eighth-seeded American International with a 2-1 victory.
Inside the Series:
- The Warriors hosted Adelphi back on October 13 in one of the most anticipated matchups of the regular season. After fighting back from a 1-0 deficit, Merrimack conceded an overtime goal, falling 2-1.
- The lone Merrimack goal came in the 84th minute, when a cross in from senior Lars Sund was finished off by freshman Tola Showunmi.
- Barring a tie in 2015, the Warriors have traded wins with Adelphi each year since 2013.

- This is the first time that the Panthers have been in a postseason matchup with Merrimack.
- Merrimack's two leading scorers (Filippo Begliardi Ghidini and Tola Showunmi) have netted the game-winner in each of the first two postseason matchups.
- Merrimack hosted the NE10 Championship game last season, beating Bently 2-1 in overtime.
