NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College baseball team makes its annual trek to Myrtle Beach, S.C. this weekend for five games at the Northeast Challenge, playing regional competition at the Cal Ripken Experience. The Navy and Gold play single games on Thursday (LIU Post), Friday (Concordia) and Sunday (Mercy) as well as a doubleheader on Saturday (Bridgeport/Dominican). First pitch against LIU Post is at 6 p.m. followed by a 1:30 tilt against the Clippers. Merrimack's Saturday games will be at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively, and Sunday's finale will commence at 9 a.m.

Limestone Recap:
- The Warriors already have a pair of games under their belt, splitting a doubleheader against Limestone College two weeks ago
- Senior Matt Nicholson was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for his efforts, hitting a pair of home runs while hitting .333 with an OPS of 1.333
- Merrimack employed the same starting lineup in both games, with five of the nine hitters posting at least a .300 average. Junior Matthew Ronai hit at a .429 clip, while sophomore Joey Porricelli posted a .400 average, belting his first-ever home run as well
- On the mound, senior PJ Browne took the ball on opening night and allowed one earned run in five innings of work, collecting five strikeouts to earn NE10 Pitcher of the Week
- Freshman Vin Zappulla received NE10 Rookie of the Week honors after not allowing an earned run in 1.2 innings of work out of the bullpen, earning his first collegiate victory against the Saints
