NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 14 Merrimack College women's lacrosse team concludes the non-conference portion of its regular season schedule on Friday (April 6) when it welcomes Queens College to campus. Game time from Merrimack Stadium is 3 p.m.

Inside the Series:
  • Merrimack and Queens have met just twice all-time, with the Warriors winning both games convincingly.
  • The last meeting came in 2011 in North Andover, with the Warriors winning it by a 19-5 final. The year before, it was even more convincing, as Merrimack won by 20 goals (22-2).
Last Time Out:
  • Merrimack won for the fourth straight game after toppling American International College by a 17-7 tally on Tuesday night.
  • Merrimack found itself in a battle early; after scoring less than two minutes into the game, AIC went ahead after back-to-back goals a minute apart. Merrimack would again draw even before the Yellow Jackets went back in front with 17:27 to play; that, however, would be the last time the hosts would lead all game long, as Merrimack closed out the half with the final five goals.
  • The Warriors pushed their lead to six, but AIC made it interesting by getting back-to-back goals just about 90 seconds apart to get within clawing distance (9-5) with over 24 minutes left.
  • Merrimack would answer again with four straight goals to take control of the game, eventually outscoring the hosts by a 10-4 margin in the second half on the way to the 10-goal win.
Poll Watch:
  • Merrimack's schedule features seven opponents that are ranked in the most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) national rankings.
  • The Warriors already faced Adelphi (ranked second when they played), Mercy (ranked 12th), Pace (14th), Stonehill (20) and New Haven (8), and upcoming ranked opponents include Le Moyne (4), Bentley (22) and Assumption (23).
'Mack Facts:
  • Merrimack's 7-3 start is its best mark since the 2011 season that saw them finish 12-7.
  • Merrimack also now is riding its first four-game winning streak since the 2010 season.
  • The NE10's fourth-ranked offense enters Friday averaging 15.80 goals per game, as the Warriors have posted double-digit goal totals in each of their first 10 games, doing so for the first time since 2010 when they did so in 14 straight games.
  • On the other end, Merrimack has the third-best scoring defense in the league allowing 10.10 goals per game.
  • Junior Amber Feminella leads Merrimack – and ranks second in the NE10 – with 43 goals and ranks fourth overall with 51 points on the season.
  • She is one of seven Warriors with double-digit scoring figures; freshman Haley Bartlett ranks second with 28 goals aand 34 points, just ahead of junior Bridget Schofield and sophomore Ally DaCosta, each of whom has 32 points, with the latter leading the team with 26 assists.
  • Sophomore Olivia Colletti leads the team with 30 draw controls, while freshman Kelsey Daly has caused a team-most 13 turnovers.
  • Sophomore Tammy Nguyen has started eight games in net for Merrimack and owns a .422 save percentage and a 11.79 goals against average. Junior Lauren Trepaney has played in the last four games with two starts and owns a 6.79 goals against average and .603 save percentage in that span.
Scouting Queens:
  • Queens enters Friday at 4-4 overall with an 0-2 mark in the East Coast Conference. The Knights have lost three straight games and had a scheduled Wednesday game at Stonehill canceled.
  • Queens' offense averages 10.88 goals per game, while defensively the Knights yield 12.13.
  • Senior Mary Pat Gibble (25) is one of four Knights who have over 20 points, while juniors Patriece Ausili and Sarah Koehler both share the lead with 18 goals.
  • Rebecca Gibble's 32 ground balls pace Queens, while Ausili has 40 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers to lead the Knights in those categories.
