John Braga was eighth going into the 2018 Division II NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the decathlon. He wrapped up the first day in seventh place, with 3,739 points.

Day One Results
- Braga's best finish of the day was the high jump. He scored 758 points and was fourth in the event with a 1.95m mark.
- In his first event, the 100m dash, Braga was eighth on the list with a time of 11.21 seconds. He scored 814 points in the event. He was a tenth of a second behind Bryce Holesinger of Lewis University and Derek Lahm of Wayne State University.
- In the long jump, his best attempt came on the second one of the day at 6.84m, while scoring 776 points in the event.
- He had a throw of 12.01m in the shot put event, earning 607 points.
- His final event of the day was the 400m race, where he finished in 11th place.
Up Next
Braga will conclude the final five events of the decathlon tomorrow, starting at 9:30 a.m. The first event of day two of the decathlon is the 100m hurdles, followed by the 1500m race.
