Men's Track and Field Has Stellar Performance at UMass Lowell D’Amour Invitational

LOWELL, MA—Merrimack Men's Track and Field team won four events and had nine podium finishes on a stellar performance in the 2026 UMass Lowell D'Amour Invitational on Friday afternoon.
 
Elizardo Meleciano won the 110 meter hurdle race with a time of 15.35, winning by three tenths, Jackson Bomba finished eighth with a time of 16.61.
 
The team of John Azpiri-Sudusky, Jack Lyman, Keith Townsend, Elizardo Melenciano won the 4x400 relay by two seconds, clocking in at 3:22.94.
 
Aidan Dupill placed second in the 1500 meter race with a time of 4:01.90, Michael Alleva placed fourth with a time of 4:03.40 and Reidar Aageson also had a top eight finish with a time of 4:10.35.
 
Max Zitnay picked up a podium in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.80 seconds, Elderson Moreira finished sixth, clocking in with a 23.34.
 
Elizardo Melenciano and Keith Townsend rounded out the top five in the 400 meter hurdle race race with times of 58.35 and 58.51.
 
Manny Mahoney finished seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.99 seconds.
 
John Azpiri-Sudusky placed seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.94.
 
Grant Eastin won the Hammer event with a throw of 55.10 meters, Jared Ptaszek also had a podium with a throw of 53.00 meters, Jude Ibarra placed fifth with a mark of 47.65 meters.

Hunter Schobel won the Triple Jump with a mark of 13.48 meters.
 
Evan Thevenot finished runner up in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.48 meters, Hunter Schobel finished fifth with a mark of 6.26 meters, Jimmy Gogbeh finished eighth with a jump of 6.12 meters.
 
Keith Townsend tied for third with a jump of 1.85 meters in the High Jump event.
 
Owen LaRoss and Grant Eastin finished fifth and sixth in the Discus throw, reaching 43.60 and 43.46 meters each.                                                                                                                     
 
Kyle Adams placed sixth in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.33 meters, he also finished seventh in the Javelin with a throw of 46.24 meters.
