How it Happened
- Merrimack needed just eight minutes to break into the scoring column. Junior Sebastian Toro cleaned up a rebound after a shot was deflected inside the six, finding the back of the net with ease to give the Warriors a 1-0 advantage.
- Saint Michael's had their best chance to score right before halftime. Senior Tyler Packett had to make a fantastic diving save to his right as a low shot by Justin D'Orlando nearly tied the game.
- Although the Warriors peppered on nine shots through the first half, the score remained 1-0 as the halftime whistle sounded.
- 38 seconds into the second half, senior Paul Magazzu found the back of the net for his first goal of the season. A rocket of a shot took a deflection inside the box, and floated over the Saint Michael's keeper and into the back of the net.
- Freshman Gianluca Arlotti netted his first career goal in the 61st minute to close out the scoring. A low shot inside the six yard box took a bad Saint Michael's deflection and snuck past keeper Leland Gazo.
