WALTHAM, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis program is officially off to its best start to Northeast-10 Conference play since 2013-14 after the Warriors' 5-2 triumph against Bentley on Monday at the Rieger Tennis Courts on the campus of Brandeis University. The perfect four-match start to league play is the best for the program since Merrimack went undefeated in NE10 play in 2014 en route to winning both the regular season and conference tournament titles.

Rapid Recap
  • All three doubles matches went in favor of the Warriors. The third-flight pairing of senior Lauren Persson and junior Mia Briggs got Merrimack off to a flying start with a 6-0 shutout
  • First and second doubles finished within minutes of each other as sophomore Cassie Restrepo and freshman Rosemary Campanella won at No. 2, 6-2, and senior Mana Seifaei joined freshman Kristina Calistro at the top flight to post a 6-3 win
  • Wins at No. 3-6 singles guaranteed a comfortable win for the visitors. Restrepo was dominating at No. 3, 5-0, before her opponent retired to end the match
  • At flights No. 4-6, the Warriors conceded just one game. Campanella and classmate Hope Salts posted perfect wins (6-0, 6-0) at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Briggs played at No. 6, and won her first set without dropping a game before a 6-1 win to close the contest
  • Seifaei and Persson, playing at first and second singles, each won their middle sets to force 10-point tiebreaks, but the Falcons prevailed in each breaker

Merrimack plays its first home match in over two weeks on Wednesday against Assumption at 3 p.m. from North Andover High School.
