NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – An even game through Saturday afternoon's entirety, it took just 53 seconds into overtime for the No. 7 Merrimack College men's soccer program to overcome a 1-0 deficit, beating Post University, 2-1, in overtime Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- Senior Tyler Packett was tested early in the game, making three saves in the first 45 minutes.
- Merrimack couldn't break down the Post defense, but neither could the visitors; both teams had an even number of shots after the first half came to a close.
- Packett had the save of the season to start the second half, when a point-blank opportunity was denied as the Warrior keeper got big and came off the line.
- Post scored the first goal against the Warriors all season, as Sergio Diaz bent a beautiful shot just inside the left-side post, and past the diving Packett.
- Merrimack had an opportunity to level it, when a set piece from junior Mirko Nufi skimmed the crossbar from 22 yards out.
- In the 60th minute, the game drew level. Senior Drew Lovely took a header on a corner from senior Lars Sund and buried it into the bottom corner of the net.
- The go-ahead goal nearly came on a break-away opportunity from sophomore Filippo Begliardi Ghidini, but an outstanding save from Pedersen kept the game level.
- Both teams continued to press on, but the whistle blew for extra time after 90 minutes.
- Merrimack needed just 53 seconds to finalize the game. A beautiful slot pass from junior Aasmund Joedahl found the foot of Filippo Begliardi Ghidini, and the easy finish gave the Warriors their third win of the season.
