Women’s Ice Hockey Prepped for Home-and-Home Against #10 Boston University; Pack the Mack Game Saturday

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's ice hockey program is set to take on #10 Boston University in a home-and-home matchup this weekend, playing part in one of the most anticipated Hockey East matchups this month. With both teams sitting just three points apart, the two-game slate could have a major impact on the current Hockey East rankings, with just under a month left in the regular season.  

The Terriers made the jump inside the top 10 national weekly ranking for the first time this season; both USA Hockey and USCHO polls placed them 10th, with Merrimack receiving votes. As the current Hockey East standings show, Boston University is third with 24 points, while Merrimack sits fifth with 21 points.

  • With just over a month remaining in the regular season, the Athletic Department and Box Office are excited to announce upcoming "Pack The Mack" events for students fans! Special "Pack The Mack" t-shirts will be available for Merrimack College students at each contest while supplies last. "Pack The Mack" will take place Saturday, January 26, at 4 p.m.
    • Please note a valid MACK Card must be presented and only one t-shirt will be distributed to each student.

  • Merrimack's power play is still third in the country, with a conversion percentage of 23.60; its eighth in penalty kill (87.80).
  • Boston University hasn't lost a game since January 5, a 1-0 loss at Maine.
  • The Terriers are averaging just under four goals per game in the month of January while giving up just eight goals in six games.
  • Senior Katelyn Rae is third in the nation in goals scored with 19; she's tied for first in the country with five power play goals.
  • Senior Samantha Ridgewell is fourth in the nation in total saves with 604; her .944 save percentage is third, and she's tied for first in shutouts with five.
