A Look at the Friars:
The Friars come into Lawler after snapping a three game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Vermont on Sunday for their third Hockey East win of the year. Providence entered that contest off of a loss at Maine on Friday, with a back-and-forth contest ending with an overtime loss for the Friars.
Providence's offense has once again been lead by junior Maureen Murphy, with seven goals and 11 points in 11 games and senior Whitney Dove, with 11 points in 13 games. The team has also gotten contributions from Sara Hjalmarsson, with five goals and eight points, while both Haley Lunny and Bailey Burton have seven points for the Friars this year.
In goal, senior Clare Minnerath has earned 10 starts for the team, turning a 4-4-2 record and 2.61 goals against. In Hockey East play, time has been split between Minnerath and sophomore Sandra Abstreiter, who has earned a 1-2-0 record and 1.98 GAA in conference play. The pair split time in the games last weekend, with Minnerath earning the win against Vermont.
