NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team competed against Fairleigh Dickinson for the second time this season on Friday night. The Warriors looked to earn their first conference win of the season, but ultimately fell short in three sets to the Knight's at home. The Warriors were able to take a set against the Knight's in their first matchup on the road but fell in straight sets at home.

Set Breakdown
- The Warriors got out to an early lead in the first set, when freshman Taylor Sawyer spiked home a kill to give them a 5-3 advantage. The Knight's responded and rallied off a quick 11 points in a row. Coach Jeff Costa called a timeout to regroup after the Warriors fell behind 14-5. The deficit proved to be too much to overcome and the Knight's took the first set 25-12.
- Once again Merrimack was able to take command of the set early when sophomore Natasha Vallis sent home a big kill. The Knight's once again countered with a 5-0 run of their own, giving them a 7-4 advantage. Freshman Emily Adams gave the Warriors a lift, sending home a kill to bring the score back to 7-8. Fairleigh Dickinson answered with a 13-0 run, putting the set out of reach for the Warriors.
- The final set was the Warriors best set of the match. Merrimack came out with a 7-4 run, looking to take their first set on the Knight's. Classmates Kara Haase and Kayla Zinser were bright spots in the set, both earning kills to give the Warriors the 9-6 advantage. Freshman Luna Colozzo also played well in the set with 2 kills. Ultimately, the Warriors were unable to pull through and lost the set 25-21.

The Warriors have a short turn around when they face Long Island University on Saturday at Hammel Court. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
