Denia Davis-Stewart led the way again for the Merrimack College women's basketball team, scoring 25 points, pulling down 16 rebounds and blocking five shots. Freshman
Jayme DeCesare helped out Davis-Stewart by scoring a career-high 17 points, but the Merrimack College women's basketball team fell to visiting Lehigh University in overtime, 72-68. Sophomore
Kate Mager also chipped in with another double-digit scoring afternoon, adding 10 points. With the loss the Warriors, moved to 1-1 in their first Division I season.

- Merrimack came out hot once again and went on a 10-5 run which included five points from Davis-Stewart. Lehigh then came back to tie things up at 17 heading into the second quarter of play after a three by Clair Steele.
- Five minutes into the second quarter Merrimack and Lehigh traded buckets on five straight possessions. During the stretch the Warriors got buckets from Davis-Stewart, Mager, and senior Emily Houle. The Warriors headed into halftime down five after another Mountain Hawk three by Steele late in the quarter.
- The third quarter belonged to DeCesare, she scored 10 points in the quarter including a three that put the Warriors up one with 2:30 to go in the quarter. Heading into the fourth Lehigh still held a one point advantage after a Hannah Hedstorm layup as time expired.
- Early in the fourth quarter Lehigh took a 57-52 lead on a Cameryn Benz layup. The Warriors cut the lead to two after a Mager three-pointer. The game then became tied at 61 on a deep Decesare three-pointer. Cameryn Buhr knocked down two free throws to put Lehigh up two. After a Merrimack timeout Decesare drove in the lane, laid it in and scored to tie things up at 63.
- In overtime, the Mountain Hawks jumped out to a quick 72-66 lead. Davis-Stewart responded by knocking down a jump hook to cut the lead to 72-68.
Notes and Numbers
- Davis-Stewart followed up her first career triple-double by getting a double-double with her 25 point and 16 rebound performance
- DeCesare had a career-high 17 points running the point for the Warriors. She also added seven assists to her stat line.
- The Warriors outshot Lehigh 41%- 36% during the game, they also shot 2% better than the Mountain Hawks from three-point range.
