Five Things To Know
- Merrimack will look to end the season on a high note, as the Warriors are looking to get back in the win column for the first time since a 5-2 win against UConn (Jan. 12).
- Two Warriors -- senior Derek Petti and freshman Chase Gresock -- posted three-point outings in Saturday's draw against UMass Lowell, marking the highest single-game point total by any player this year. Gresock also had three at Michigan (Jan. 8), while junior Johnathan Kovacevic had three points back in the season opener (Oct. 6).
- Five of Merrimack's top-eight scorers are juniors, but rookie Chase Gresock leads the way with a team-high 24 points, which include a team-high 11 goals and 13 assists, with 15 of those points coming in the last 11 games. He is followed on the scoresheet by junior Tyler Irvine (6-12--18), senior Derek Petti (6-11--17), and juniors Johnathan Kovacevic (4-12--16), Sami Tavernier (4-10--14) and Patrick Kramer (6-5--11).
- UMass is in the midst of a historic season and are a win away from claiming their first-ever Hockey East regular season title. They took both games against Merrimack back in October, including a 4-3 overtime decision at Lawler Rink on Oct. 27.
- BU has won three straight after losing six in a row and is fighting for a home ice playoff spot, making Saturday's matchup with the Warriors a pivotal one for the Terriers. Merrimack blanked BU back in October by a 4-0 score, but the Terriers evened the season series with a 7-2 victory over the Warriors back on Jan. 21.
