NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 18 Merrimack College women's lacrosse team returns home for the first of three straight games at Duane Stadium when it continues Northeast-10 Conference play against Saint Michael's on Wednesday (March 27) afternoon. Game time is 3 p.m.
BEER GARDENS AVAILABLE FOR HOME GAMES
Merrimack is pleased to offer a 21+ Beer Garden on the stadium patio for select women's lacrosse home games (opposite the press box side, closest to the Merrimack Athletics Complex). The patio opens one hour before game time and closes midway through the second half. Light snacks are also available for purchase.
Five Things To Know:
- Merrimack saw its three-game winning streak snapped when it lost its only NE10 game of the season thus far at No. 17 New Haven on Saturday. The Warriors surrendered 20 goals for the first time in nearly four years but still managed to put up 15 goals of their own, marking the third time in the last four games they have tallied 15-plus goals (15.25) after scoring 20 goals combined in their first three games of the season (6.67).
- The Warriors are now averaging 11.86 goals per game while yielding 10.57 per game on the other end. They've scored 10-plus goals in five out of their seven games thus far while limiting opponents to single digits in four games, as well.
- Sophomore Haley Bartlett, the 2018 NE10 Rookie of the Year, has moved into the team lead in scoring after a nine-point week (all goals). She is up to 24 points on the season (19g, 5a), one point ahead of senior captain Amber Feminella, a 2018 IWLCA all-region honoree, who has 23 points (17g, 6a). Feminella also leads the team with 20 draw controls, while sophomore Kelsey Daly – a 2018 NE10 All-Conference Third Team selection – has caused eight turnovers, the most by any Warrior
- Senior Lauren Trepaney has been strong in seven starts in net thus far; she ranks in the top-half in both goaltending categories in the NE10 – including fourth in save percentage (.468) – while her 9.29 saves per game are good for fourth in the conference and 34th in the country.
- Merrimack's all-time series with Saint Michael's has been evenly contested, although the Warriors have the last two wins (including a 21-8 victory last year on the road) and the series lead (13-11). The Purple Knights enter Wednesday at 1-4 overall (0-4 NE10) and are led offensively by Alex Vincent's 17 points (11g, 6a). Victoria Putnam has started all five games and net and has totaled 28 saves thus far.
