NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. –
Katelyn Rae of the Merrimack College women's ice hockey program can add another distinguished award to her mantle, becoming the first in program history to be recognized as an All-Star by the New England Hockey Writers Association, per its release Thursday afternoon. Rae, already a Hockey East First-Team All-Star, is one of six forwards from a Division I school in New England to be recognized by the prestigious association.

th overall to the Connecticut Whale during its December draft.
The senior will be recognized at the April 17 New England Hockey Writers awards dinner at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, which will also feature the presentation of the Gridiron Club of Boston's Walter Brown and Joe Concannon awards, the J. Thom Lawler Award given by the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Ice Hockey Officials Association, and All-Star recognition for other divisions of college hockey in New England.
