MANCHESTER, N.H. – It was a tale of two halves for the No. 18 Merrimack College women's lacrosse program on Wednesday; in the opening 30 minutes, defense dictated the scene, with senior
Lauren Trepaney turning in a 12-save performance to preserve a two-goal lead; but in the second half, the Warriors pulled away with 13 goals to lift the visitors to a 17-8 win against Saint Anselm at Grappone Stadium.
Trepaney would finish with a season-high 17 saves, one off her personal best. Sophomore
Haley Bartlett and senior
Amber Feminella each had four goals to lead the Warriors while sophomore
Meghan Dzialo added a hat trick of her own, with Bartlett's six points overall leading the way, while both sophomore
Taylor Darrell and junior
Ally DaCosta had a game-high three assists to pace the Warriors to their seventh win of the season.

How It Happened
- Merrimack got off to a quick start after DaCosta and Dzialo gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead before Saint Anselm got on the board at the 26:37 mark.
- After a 10-minute scoring lull, Dzialo found the back of the net again; Saint Anselm answered, but Dzialo had the last laugh with her first hat trick of the season. Meanwhile, Trepaney dominated on the other end, finishing with 12 first-half saves to preserve the Warriors' 4-2 lead at the break.
- Each team exchanged three goals apiece to start the second half, but the Warriors took over with eight of the next nine goals. Bartlett and Feminella combined for six of them (three each), as the Warriors took a nine-goal lead with just over eight minutes left.
- Merrimack would round out the night with two final goals, including junior Gretchen Krall's first of the day, to round out the nine-goal road win.
