Highlights
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.  – The Merrimack College softball program used five different pitchers Sunday afternoon, but the Saint Anselm offense was overpowering in the series finale, taking the rubber match 7-2. Both teams combined for just 12 hits, but the Hawks were able to capitalize on 10 walks to take both the game and the series.

Scoring Plays:
- Saint Anselm capitalized on an error in center field to score the first runs of the game. With the bases loaded and two outs, Shannon Colson lifted a ball to center field; the ball was dropped, allowing Colson to take third while scoring three runs in the process.
- Merrimack got one back in the bottom of the fifth inning. With sophomore Lucy Colarusso on second, freshman Jenna Wike delivered a single, cutting the Saint Anselm lead to just two runs. Bridget Soraghan then followed Wike's lead, cracking a double to left-center to pull Merrimack within one.
- Saint Anselm unloaded once more in the top of the sixth. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Lauren Washburn laced a triple down the right field line, clearing the bases and making it 6-2.
- Saint Anselm tacked on an insurance run in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, Shannon Murphy lifted a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring the seventh Hawks run of the day.
