NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College softball program will honor its class of 2019 on Saturday, April 27, by hosting its final regular season doubleheader of the year against #17 Southern New Hampshire University. The Warriors, now 13-12 in league play and 11-8 in divisional play, sit one game ahead of Bentley for third place and two games ahead of Assumption for fourth place.
In between games, the program's five seniors -
Nicole Nanof,
Caitlin McBride,
Hannah Johnson,
Melanie DeAlmeida, and
Emily Kurkul - will be honored for their hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to the program.
Five Things to Know:
- Merrimack has three players hitting above .315 on the season; junior Tiffany Mangiameli, and sophomores Lucy Collarusso and Abigail Amato.
- Merrimack dropped game one against SNHU on Thursday, losing 2-0.
- Freshman pitcher Jenna Wike holds the team-best ERA, sporting a 2.38 through 86 innings pitched.
- Southern New Hampshire is 14-5 in divisional play, good for second in the Northeast.
- The Warriors are 9-11 all-time against the Penmen when playing at home – its most recent home win against the program came on May 4, 2017.
