SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Merrimack College women's rowing program competed in its first event of the spring season on Saturday, traveling to Smithfield, R.I. to face the Bryant University Bulldogs in both Varsity Fours and Junior Varsity Fours events. Merrimack's top fours boat impressed, finishing less than five seconds behind a Bulldogs fours crew that projects to be one of the fastest in New England this spring.

Merrimack returns to action next weekend, when the Warriors make their annual trek to New Jersey to compete in the Knecht Cup. The Warriors' first day of competition will be Saturday, April 13, followed by another race day on Sunday, April 14.
