WORCESTER, Mass. – With its top-three doubles pairings posting undefeated days, the Merrimack College women's tennis program enjoyed a very successful outing at the second annual Holy Cross Double Invitational on Saturday at the Sinnott Family Tennis Center in Worcester, Mass.
Merrimack entered four pairings in to the event, which saw the Warriors face off against entries from the host Crusaders and Nichols College. All eight members of Merrimack's 2019-20 roster competed on Saturday.

- Merrimack's top pairing of sophomore Kristina Calistro and freshman Allyson Nerf played three matches on the day, winning all three by comfortable matches. The duo topped the No. 1 entries from Nichols and Holy Cross by 8-2 and 8-3 scores, respectively, before besting Nichols' No. 2, 8-4 to wrap up their day
- Sophomore Rosemary Campanella and freshman Kelly Klaren united to form the Warriors' second doubles grouping. The combo began the day with an 8-5 triumph over Holy Cross' top doubles pairing. Their margin-of-victory grew from there, as they posted a five-game win (8-3) over second doubles from the Bison. Campanella and Klaren won their last match, 8-2, over Holy Cross' No. 2
- Senior Mia Briggs and sophomore Hope Salts played at No. 3, and won their first and last matches comfortably – an 8-1 win over Nichols and an 8-2 win over Holy Cross. The duo's second match was a thrilling won, as they topped the fourth entry from the Bison's in a tiebreaker, 8-7
- Senior Roberta Marcos and junior Abbie Sartori was Merrimack's No. 4 pairing. They played in three matches on the day as well, besting the No. 4 from Holy Cross, 8-5, to highlight their afternoon

More tournament play awaits Merrimack next weekend when the Warriors make their debut appearance in the Bates College Invitational. The event runs for two days next weekend, beginning on Saturday, Sept. 21, in Lewiston, Maine.
