NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack Warriors women's lacrosse team looks to make a positive jump in the midst of a five game road stretch to open the season, as they square off against the Canisius Golden Griffins in Upstate New York on Sunday.
Five Things To Know:
- Freshman Natalie Calkins leads the Warriors in the goal column with five, including a hat trick in the season opener. Junior Haley Bartlett also holds four tallies on the year, with two coming the last time out against UNH.
- Senior attack Ally DaCosta leads the squad with seven points; five of which are assists.
- Through two, the Warriors have forced 45 turnovers and hold a .585 clear percentage.
- Canisius, a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, has also opened the season 0-2 after losses at Syracuse and Duquesne.
- The Warriors will be the first home game of the seasons for the Griffins, who ended 2019 with a loss in MAAC Championship game.
