EMMITSBURG, Md. – Behind a near-perfect singles performance that saw the Merrimack College women's tennis team win five of six flights, the Warriors won their first-ever Northeast Conference (NEC) match on Saturday afternoon at Mount St. Mary's, 5-2. Merrimack won in straight sets in every flight that it prevailed in, winning its second Division I match in as many days after Friday night's triumph at Monmouth.
The Warriors improved to 7-0 (1-0 NEC) on the year, and will return to action during spring break when Merrimack plays Dickinson College in a series of matches down in Orlando, Fla.

- Merrimack faltered in the doubles portion of the match. The Mount won the first flight, 6-2, and the second flight, 6-4, to take a 1-0 lead in the match
- In singles, the Warriors started play with a point at No. 6 as the Mountaineers only play five singles players. Sophomore Kristina Calistro won a two-set decision at No. 1, 6-3 and 6-3, to pick up an impressive singles win over Mount's top option
- The Warriors' depth then prevailed as Merrimack won at flights No. 3-5 without dropping a set. Freshman Kelly Klaren won, 6-3 and 6-2, at third singles, sophomore Rosemary Campanella prevailed by the same exact set scores at No. 4 and senior Mia Briggs dominated the fifth flight with just one lost game over two sets (6-0, 6-1)
