The Summary
  • Goals came early and often in the contest, with Merrimack working the lead in the fourth minute. Junior Johan Feilscher notched his first as a Warrior with a finish low right to give an early lead on the road.
  • St. Francis responded quickly, with El Mahdi Youssoufi scoring two within three minutes to give the Terriers a lead.
  • Henry Osei brought the game back even in the 31' with a perfectly elevated pass by Stefano Pesenti from the midfield to fall at Osei's feet. Using his speed, Osei flew by two defenders and cut into the box, firing a rising shot in through past the keeper for his first of the year.
  • St. Francis scored in the closing minute to enter halftime with a one goal lead. After evenly matched play to start the second half, the Terriers began to push the pace midway through the half, scoring in the 63' and again in the 70' for a 5-2 lead.
  • The Warriors kept up the fight with a goal in the 77' looking to swing the momentum late. On a ball from the midfield, Nick Bernardi sent an aerial pass to keep the ball elevated for Frantz Pierrot to finish his run with the tap in low left for Merrimack's third.
  • The Terriers added the final of the afternoon in the 86' to quell any hopes of a Warriors comeback.
