BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Merrimack men's soccer team was handed their ninth loss of the season against conference leading Long Island University on Thursday afternoon, 3-1.
Nehemie Lamtoukou gave the Warriors an early lead with his second goal of the season.
Frantz Pierrot had the assist on the goal.

The Summary
- Lamtoukou opened up the shooting for the Warriors in the 15th minute. The Long Island goalkeeper made the save of the play. Four minutes later Lamtoukou beat the LIU goalkeeper on a blast from three yards away, that found the back of the net. Long Island scored the equalizer 13 minutes later. Towards the end of the half, Stefano Pesenti had a chance, but missed high with his attempt. The teams headed into halftime all square at one.
- Out of the gate the Sharks took the lead six minutes into the second stanza. The Warriors responded with two shots, one from Lamtoukou and the other from Alessandro Negri, both missed the mark. Henry Osei had an opportunity miss high and to the left in the 64th minute. Long Island added an insurance goal in the 69th minute. Pesenti had the final chance for the Warriors in the 77th minute with a shot that missed to the left.

- Goalkeeper Alvaro Rodriguez had 10 saves on the afternoon. Francesco Bazzano also had one save.
- Both Lamtoukou and Pesenti led the Warriors in shots with three.
- Long Island had 15 shots compared to Merrimack's 13.
