BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – An offensive first quarter for LIU Friday afternoon at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium was enough, as the Sharks knocked off the Merrimack College field hockey team, 9-1.
Anne-Sophie Hogenboom stretched her goal scoring streak to two games when she found the back of the net in the fourth quarter off a penalty corner insert from 
Jane Bonazzoli.
The Sharks scored three times in the game's opening 15 minutes, then pushed the lead to five before the halftime break to claim the league win.

	- Riley Brown made the start in the Warrior cage and came up with five solid saves in the first quarter, but LIU still found a way to claim the 3-0 lead.
- Brown made a quartet of saves in the second quarter to push her game total to nine, but the Sharks closed the opening half hour up by five.
- Brooke Bolduc replaced Brown for the second half and came up with five stops in the third quarter. She ended the afternoon with eight total after she got in front of a trio in the fourth quarter.
- With just under 10 minutes to play in the game, Bonazzoli inserted to Hogenboom at the top of the circle, then the sophomore unleashed a rocket for her second goal in as many games. Her last tally, an overtime game-winner against Saint Francis, was a nearly identical play.
- LIU closed the scoring later on the in the half to close out the victory.
