Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Two Goals by Pierrot and Feilscher Propel Men’s Soccer to Victory on Senior Day

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College men's soccer team beat Mount St. Mary's College in a 7-0 rout on senior day in North Andover. Frantz Pierrot started the scoring less than minute into the game. Johan Feilscher followed up with two goals of his own in the first half.
 
Adam Pinto, James Poschmann, and Karim Abultaif all scored their first goal in a Merrimack uniform.

Game Breakdown:
  • Just seconds into the game Pierrot soared past the defense and found the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season. Goalkeeper Bernardo Santos had his first save of the game on a shot in the eighth minute. Feilscher followed Pierrot with his first goal of the game is the 12th minute of play. Nehemie Lamtoukou found the junior streaking down the pitch and was awarded the assist on the goal. Less then 20 minutes later Feilscher beat the Mountaineer goalkeeper again for his third goal of the season. Captain Stefano Pesenti had the assist this time for the Warriors. In the final minutes of the half, Pinto squirted one by the Mount St. Mary's goalkeeper for his first goal of his Merrimack career. The Warriors took a four-goal lead into halftime.  
  • Feilscher started the shooting for Merrimack in the second half with a shot on goal that was saved by the Mountaineer goalkeeper. Carlo Romei had a shot in the 59th minute that was also saved. Santos saved the best Mount St. Mary's opportunity in the 72nd minute. Pierrot launched a ball on net which powerfully hit the back of the net for his second goal of the game. Five minutes later, Poschmann scored his first goal of his Merrimack career to give the Warriors a six-goal advantage. Donny Williams had the helper of the goal. In the final three minutes of the game, Abultaif scored to solidify the victory for Merrimack on senior day.      
 
Notes and Notables:
  • Santos had five saves on the afternoon. With today's victory, he has not let up a goal in over 100 minutes in net during his Merrimack career.
  • The Warriors outshot the Mountaineers 25-9.
  • Today's 7-0 victory, marks the first time the Warriors have scored seven goals since Oct 25, 2014 against American International College.
