POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Merrimack College men's tennis team capped of their fall season in impressive fashion with a dominant performance at the Marist Invitational. The Warriors won the A flight singles bracket with a great performance from
Aryaan Bhatia, as well as the A flight doubles bracket with efforts from
Jan Semerak and
Jonathan Garcia. This will help carry some great momentum going into the offseason before they start back up this upcoming spring.

With Semerak's three doubles wins he improved his team best record to 18-7 this fall. Fellow underclassmen,
Henrik Lindeman, followed right behind Semerak as he won three matches as well, bringing his fall season win total to 13, good for second on the team.

- Starting in the A flight singles bracket, the Warriors were led by the Mumbai, India native, Bhatia. The sophomore started the tournament off with a hard-fought battle against Josh Wolfe of Lafayette. In the first set Bhatia edged off Wolfe 6-4 and then didn't look back. In the second set, Bhatia advanced to the second round winning 6-3. Bhatia then went on to defeat Fordham's Juan Paredes by scores of 7-5 and 6-4 to advance to the final round. The underclassman took the challenge head on as he went up against Jofre Segarra of Fordham. Unfortunately for Segarra, Bhatia, saved his best for last as the sophomore took the match in short order by scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
- Elsewhere in singles play, included two matchups between Merrimack teammates. Conrad Koch defeated Alec Mackay Rodriguez in the B flight by scores of 7-5, 2-6, 10-6, while Lindeman defeated Pedro De Godoy Mancini in the C flight by scores of 6-3 and 6-3.
- Flipping over to the A flight doubles bracket, where the Warriors saw great success. The duo of Semerak and Garcia started the bracket off against Davis Esslinger and Ross Coleman of Lafayette with the Warriors taking the match 6-2. The combo advanced to the second round where they put another victory under their belt against Rhett Bailey and Toi Kobayashia of Fordham by a score of 6-3 to advance to the final round. In the end, Semerak and Garcia took on Gabriel Castillo and Augusto Gonzalez of Marist. This was a back and forth, tension filled affair, but the Warriors came away with the win 6-4.
