Rapid Recap
- In the first quarter both teams had some feeling out to do as they collectively shot 13-35 from the field, but in the following frame the Warriors picked up the pace. Graduate student, Mayson Kimball, got Merrimack going as she picked up a bucket and the foul to get the first points of the game. After a quick run by the Mountain Hawks, the Warriors answered right back as Brown went to work in the paint and got a layup to fall. The quarter ended in a positive way, as Mager took a sweet feed from senior, Carla Balague, and buried a three to narrow the Lehigh lead to five.
- The second quarter was the Warriors best quarter and that was thanks in large part to the work from graduate student, Paige McCormick, who went 2-2 from the field to add to her nine first half points. McCormick started the quarter on fire as she scored five straight points for the Warriors with a three and then a pull up jumper. Brown then got her game going as she collected a steal on one end and then at the other end buried a layup to bring Merrimack within striking distance. She then went on to score the Warriors next 6 points.
- The third quarter did not favor the Warriors as they collectively shot 4-14 from the field as the Mountain Hawks extended their first half lead.
- In the final frame, Merrimack found their game once again as they out shot Lehigh in field goal percentage 58.3% to 47.4%. Unfortunately though, it was too little too late for the Warriors as time ran out on the comeback.
