NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack women's ice hockey team will face the Boston University Terriers for the first time this season with a Friday-Sunday split, with the first contest featured on NESN+ and TSN2.
Merrimack is coming off two games against Northeastern, falling in both against the No. 4 team in the country. Goaltender
Emma Gorski faced a total of 79 shots between the two games in the series. In the first game,
Gabby Jones led the team with four shots on goal, with
Dominika Laskova and
Kiki Roust leading the team's offense with four shots on goal each in the team's 21 shot effort.
Quick Hits:
• The team's penalty kill has been largely effective, going 1-for-7 in last weekend's series against the Huskies. Overall, the team's PK has been operating at an 83% clip.

Courtney Maud and
Megan Fergusson are both in the top-20 for Hockey East's total faceoff wins. Maud sits tenth overall with 109 won draws, with Fergusson at 13
th with 88 wins.
• The Warriors were dominant in the faceoff dot against Northeastern last weekend, winning 68 draws for a 69 percent win rate through two games.
• Junior defender
Julia MacLean holds the seventh spot in Hockey East for blocked shots, stepping in front of 26 through 11 games this season.
• In Friday's game,
Emma Gorski faced 43 shots on goal, matching her second-highest of the season. Her previous 43 save effort came on Dec. 18 at UConn, which sits behind her season-high 46 against Holy Cross on Dec. 12.
A Look at the Terriers:
BU, by virtue of multiple pauses, has only competed in five contests on the year. Two forwards, Julia Nearis and Jessie Compher, lead the team in goals with two each. Leading in points in junior Courtney Correia, with four helpers in five games. Senior Corinne Schroeder has made four starts, earning a 1.96 goals against and .915 save percentage, turning a 2-2-0 record with a shutout.
In their last meeting on January 25, 2020, Merrimack lost to BU, 6-3 in North Andover after two ties at Walter Brown Arena. The Warriors last won against the Terriers on September 23, 2017 in a 2-1 victory in Boston.

Up Next
The Warriors will continue play next weekend with an opponent to be determined. As announced by Hockey East, the previously released composite schedules for both the men's and women's leagues will be set aside and the remainder of the 2020-21 season will continue to be scheduled on a weekly basis.
