NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. --  The Merrimack softball team fell in both doubleheader contests against the Boston University Terriers on Thursday.  
 
The Basics
Score: Game 1: Merrimack 0, Boston University 8 | Final (6 inn.)

Rapid Recap (Game One)
  • BU put its first runs of the day up in the first, bringing two in on a long single to right center to take a 2-0 lead.
  • The Terriers added a home run in the third, adding their fourth of the day in the fourth on an RBI single to right.
  • In the fifth, BU brought in two more runs, finishing off with an inside the park home run in the sixth for the final tallies of the day.
  • Tiffany Mangiameli got on base twice for the Warriors, reaching on a catcher's interference in the first inning and sending a single to left in the sixth.
 
 
Rapid Recap (Game Two)
  • Olivia Crowley opened up the scoring for the Warriors with her first home run for the blue and gold, sending the ball to deep right to give Merrimack a 1-0 lead in the second.
  • The Terriers returned the offense in the third with a home run to left to tie the game at one.
  • Merrimack's offense rolled in the fourth, working the bases loaded. Madison Cerpa and Courtney Lanpher worked back-to-back walks, before Olivia Crowley singled to short to lead the bases. Amber Gibbons' plate discipline walked in a run, before Lexi LeFebre scorched a single up the middle to bring in Lanpher.
  • BU responded in the fifth with six runs, re-taking their lead, adding a run in the seventh to cap the game off.
