NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Merrimack men's soccer fell in a physical battle at Central Connecticut State by a 2-1 margin on Monday afternoon.

The Summary
  • The Blue Devils scored first in the contest in the 14th minute, taking a ball through the midfield for a three man rush in on goal.
  • CCSU added its second with a ball sent in on a short shot from the edge of the six-yard box skipping in along the goal line before rolling out in the 40th minute.
  • Frantz Pierrot scored once again for Merrimack, capping on a penalty kick goal in the 53rd minute after getting fouled in the box by the goalkeeper as he fought for a rebound.
  • Francesco Bazzano faced six shots on goal in the game, turning four key saves for the Warriors.
Stats & Figures
  • Henry Osei fired three shots, with Pierrot and Stefano Pesenti each sending two shots for Merrimack's offense.
  • Both teams were physically challenged in the game, with Merrimack getting docked for 13 fouls while CCSU was called for 14.
  • This is the first loss in the Northeast Conference for the Warriors since joining the conference in 2019, and the first time since Sept. 21, 2019 Merrimack has not walked away with a win or tie.
